• About Dr. Richard Burt

    Based in Chicago, Dr. Richard Burt teaches courses at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University, where he has served since 2013. He is also the director of the fellowship program within the Immunotherapy Division. Dr. Richard Burt belongs to to the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation. He has also been awarded numerous research grants, including a $1 million grant from the Danhakl Foundation for stem cell research for autoimmune disease.

    Dr. Richard Burt attended the University of Missouri, where he graduated with distinction with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. He earned his doctor of medicine from the St. Louis University School of Medicine, and then completed a residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston where he was Chief Medical Resident and taught and ran morning rounds for other residents and students. He also spent three years as a biotechnology training fellow with the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.
